Some courses are specifically addressed to mums through the “Mums to school” initiative; to favour their participation, lessons are mainly held in the morning – when children go to school – and in the afternoon, together with after-school activities for their children. A baby-sitting service is also provided for children aged 0-5 not attending schools, who can go with their mums during the activities. Besides learning Italian language, the aim of the project is to share information about the City and the territory’s offerings and services, such as libraries, museums, municipal services. Depending on the needs expressed by students, specific information and prevention meetings are also proposed, held by professionals in the fields of health, paediatrics or nutrition, as well as short exercises on safety and behaviour to be held in the event of natural disasters or other situations of danger. The courses are run by volunteers who dedicate their time to teaching and / or caring for younger children.
